1. Information TAGS collects
TAGS may collect information you provide directly, information generated through app use, and certain information from your device.
Account information
- Email address
- Account user ID
- Authentication and account records
Profile information
- Username
- Bio
- Profile photo or avatar
User content
- Tag titles and text
- Photos, videos, and audio recordings
- Comments and meetup chat messages
- Tours and meetups you create
- Reports, takedown requests, and moderation submissions
Location information
TAGS uses location for nearby discovery and accurate post placement. If you upload a photo or video with GPS metadata, TAGS may use that metadata to help place the tag where the media was captured.
Device and technical information
- Device model
- Operating system version
- App version and build number
- Push notification token
- Diagnostic or crash-related information available through the platform or SDKs
2. How TAGS uses information
- To create and manage accounts
- To authenticate users and keep accounts secure
- To show posts, tours, meetups, and map content
- To place posts accurately and power nearby discovery
- To enable comments, ratings, feeds, meetups, and tours
- To send notifications you choose to receive
- To detect abuse, spam, fraud, and safety issues
- To respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations
3. Visibility and sharing
TAGS includes multiple visibility settings. Depending on the feature and your choices, content may be public, friends-only, or personal. Please use care when posting. Public meetup or event feeds may be viewable even by people who are not signed in.
4. When information may be shared
TAGS may share information in the following situations:
- With service providers used to operate the app, such as backend, mapping, storage, notifications, and advertising partners
- With other users when you post public or friends-visible content
- With public viewers when content is included in public meetup or event feeds
- For moderation, safety, fraud prevention, or legal compliance
- As part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or similar business transfer if applicable
5. Third-party services
TAGS may rely on providers such as:
- Supabase
- Mapbox
- Google Mobile Ads, if ads are enabled
These providers may process information on TAGS’s behalf to help run the product.
6. Ads
TAGS may display ads in some feeds or surfaces. If ads are enabled, advertising partners or SDKs may collect data as described in their own disclosures and documentation. If TAGS uses personalized advertising or tracking in the future, TAGS will follow platform requirements such as Apple’s App Tracking Transparency where required.
7. Sensitive places and safety
TAGS may use technical and moderation measures to reduce posting on private residences or other protected locations. TAGS may restrict posting in protected areas, review reports, hide content, or protect a location from future posts.
8. Retention
Information is kept as long as needed to operate TAGS, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce policies. Some content, moderation records, or technical records may be retained for limited periods even after deletion requests where reasonably needed.
9. Choices
- Browse without posting
- Choose whether a post is public, friends-only, or personal
- Edit or delete your own content
- Block other users
- Manage notification settings
- Disable location access in device settings
- Remove GPS metadata from media before upload if you prefer
10. Account deletion
Account deletion is available in-app. When an account is deleted, TAGS takes steps to remove or de-identify account-related information, subject to legal, security, fraud-prevention, and operational retention needs.
11. Children
TAGS is not directed to children under 13, and TAGS does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
12. International use
If you use TAGS outside the country where TAGS or its service providers operate, your information may be processed in other countries, subject to applicable law.
13. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
